Decorative features

  Shadow gaps & corner blocks

Shadow gapA shadow gap is a small rebate scribed into one corner of an abutment. Without using this technique, a thin crack can be visible when the the two pieces are joined together. The shadow gap is filled when the case is painted, stained or varnished thus reducing this effect.

Nailed and glued corner blocks give the case additional strength and helps prevent it from warping.

  Case tops
  Case tops

Case tops are available with square or rounded corners on both the Balmoral and Windsor ranges.

If you have young children then we recommend rounded corners for child safety reasons

  Skirting boards

Skirting boards The three types of skirting shown here are those we generally fit to our cases. However, other patterns can be machined to match existing skirting.

Please get in contact to discuss your requirements.

When fitting your cases we pay special attention to the way they sit against your walls by ensuring that the sides are scribed to make a perfect fit with any existing skirting boards
